Mark Canhas pinchhit home run lifts As past Giants 43

Mark Canha, who grew up in San Jose rooting for the Giants, played the key role in the A's 4-3 victory at AT&T Park on Saturday night ' and Canha savored every moment of it.

Not that many Giants fans of 2018 would be particularly fond of his reaction.

The Giants carried a 3-2 lead into the seventh. Tony Watson began the inning on the mound for San Francisco. Watson brought a 1.67 ERA into the game; his scoreless streak had ended at 18 innings Wednesday when the Cubs' Javier Baez took him deep.

After Josh Phegley greeted Watson with a single to right, Canha pinch-hit for Yusmeiro Petit (4-2).

On a 3-2 pitch, Canha sent a drive seemingly halfway to the Campanile. The Cal alum's 12th homer of the season was also his first career pinch-hit homer. Just like that, the A's were up 4-3.

Canha, who went to Bellarmine Prep, celebrated with a bat flip that was either inconsequential or over the line, depending on your perspective. He then was caught by TV cameras exclaiming 'My house!' when he got to the first-base dugout.
