Mark Canha apologizes for bat flip then takes it back

In the top of the seventh inning, with the Giants leading 3-2, Athletics pinch-hitter Mark Canha stepped up and connected on a no-doubter that landed high up the left field bleachers. The two-run blast gave the A's the 4-3 lead that would carry into the final score, tying the series at one game apiece.

Canha celebrated the play with exuberance from start to finish. He flipped his bat, jogged around the bases, and screamed 'My house' as he entered the A's dugout in AT&T Stadium. And with that, Canha, a San Jose native and University of Cal alum, imbued some life into this Battle of the Bay rivalry.

After the game, Canha apologized for the bat flip, then reversed his comment.

Mark Canha, on the bat toss: 'I got on Twitter and got out in front of this a little bit, and I'm sure a lot of San Franciscans are offended by that, and I'm sorry.'

'People getting offended by bat flips is so silly. I'm not sorry. I'm not really sorry.'
