James Harrison and Hines Ward named Pro Football Hall of Fame semi-finalists

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its 25 semifinalists for the class of 2024, and two Pittsburgh Steelers greats are in consideration.

Linebacker James Harrison and wide receiver Hines Ward, both two-time Super Bowl winners with Pittsburgh, were among the semifinalists announced Tuesday morning.

Several other former Steelers did not make the semifinal cut, including defensive back Carnell Lake, nose tackle Casey Hampton, linebackers James Farrior and Joey Porter and kicker Gary Anderson.

Tuesday’s list takes the 173 modern-era nominees named in September and brings us one step closer to the round of finalists. The induction of the Class of 2024 will happen in August.
