With the traditional post-release budget-boosting campaign now officially underway across the country, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will kick off today's series of synchronized events during a mid-morning appearance at the University of Ottawa, where he'll join American TV host Bill Nye The Science Guy for an 'armchair discussion' on his government's plan to pour billions of dollars into ' Canadian innovation.'

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Bill Morneau is taking his ongoing 'equality and growth'-touting speaking tour to Vancouver, where he'll take part in an 'armchair discussion' hosted by the Business Council of British Columbia.

After that wraps up, he'll drop by the University of British Columbia's brain research centre to chat with scientists and take questions from the press.

Elsewhere on the West Coast, New Democrat Leader Jagmeet Singh starts his day in Port Alberni, where he'll join local MP Gord Johns for a morning visit to a local high school before the pair make their way to Parksville for a stroll on the waterfront with coastal protection advocates.
