An American chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1976 for his studies on the structure of boranes. He was also a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences as well as a foreign member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. He made his own fireworks when he was a child to entertain the neighbors and his friends.
