Under the guise of legitimate businesses, largely nightclubs, they became two of the most feared and untouchable people in the city, engaging the likes of protection rackets, robberies, and murders. After their dishonorable discharge from the army, they started engaging in serious criminal activity, which ultimately landed Ronnie in jail for 18 months. During his imprisonment, his brother gained control of a nightclub that ultimately propelled their careers as gangsters.
