Infamous for heading the violent Chenier Cell of the Quebec Liberation Front, this political figure turned terrorist was convicted of the abduction and murder of Quebecois Liberal Party politician Pierre Laporte during the October Crisis of 1970. In his early adulthood years, he joined the Rally for National Independence political party and, in the late 1960s, became involved in the radical activities of the Front de Liberation du Quebec.
