American poet and author known for Big Winds, Glass Mornings, Shadows Cast by Stars; When People Could Fly; Where the Oceans Cover us, and other poetry collections. His prose works include The Brezhnev Memo (novel) and Striking Through The Masks (memoir). He grew up in New York City and served briefly in the United States Air Force. Later, he moved to California.
