Singer best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band Sha Na Na, who had its own television series and appeared in the classic film Grease. He later became an orthopedic surgeon and founded Stetson Powell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He was born in Dallas and founded Sha Na Na, originally called The Kingsmen, in 1969.
