Famous for her The Magic School Bus series of children's books, she penned more than two hundred other titles, including Bug in a Rug, Bully Trouble, Dinosaur Story, and the Ready, Set, Dogs! series. After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from the City College of New York, she worked as a New York City school librarian and subsequently worked for Newsweek, Scholastic, and Doubleday Books.
