Known for her fantasy and science fiction works for young audiences, this New York-born author is perhaps most famous for her 2004 novel The Bar Code Tattoo. Her popular series include the Makeover, Sitting Pretty, and No Way Ballet books. After earning an associate's degree from Nassau Community College, she received her bachelor's from Binghamton University. She began her literary career by editing several young adult magazines and subsequently working for Scholastic, Inc.
