Attacking midfielder who helped the French national team win the 1984 Euro Cup and was voted the best player of the tournament; spent his club career with Nancy, Saint-Etienne and Juventus and played for the French national team from 1976 to 1987. He received an opportunity to play with Metz early in his career, but missed it because of an injury.
