Athlete and politician nicknamed The Spider, who opted out of an NBA career in order to continue playing in his native land. He was a second round 1986 NBA Draft pick, 37th overall, by the Portland Trail Blazers, but continued playing with PAOK Thessaloniki, who he began his career with in 1981.
