A Canadian novelist, short story writer, playwright, and radio personality, he is particularly known for novels such as Strange Fugitive, It's Never Over, and A Broken Journey. He also published a 1963 memoir entitled That Summer in Paris. He studied at the University of Toronto and later attended Osgoode Hall Law School.
