Former midfielder who is widely regarded as one of the finest Dutch soccer players of all time, playing for more than two decades as a member of clubs like Feyenoord and FC Utrecht. He led the Netherlands to a runner-up finish at the FIFA World Cup in 1974. He played on the Velox SC youth squad before making his senior debut with the club in 1962.
