A physicist known for his work in quantum mechanics and for providing the foundation for Bose-Einstein statistics, which describe the interactions of particles at thermodynamic equilibrium. The particle class known as bosons were named in his honor by Paul Dirac. He scored in the MSc mixed mathematics exam set long-standing records at the University of Calcutta.
