Madame Web trailer Dakota Johnson Sydney Sweeney star in Sonys first womenled superhero film

The world seems to be tired of watching superhero movies but Hollywood isnt tired of making them yet. On Wednesday, Sony Pictures dropped the trailer of their upcoming Dakota Johnson superhero vehicle Madame Web which is a part of Sonys Spider-Man Universe. Dakota plays the lead character Cassandra Webb who has clairvoyant abilities. Sydney Sweeney also stars in the film as Julia Carpenter, who turns Spider-Woman in the comics.

The trailer shows Dakotas character as someone who has gained the ability to look into the future and can possibly avert calamities thanks to her powers. The video also hints that the universe around her is functioning in different timelines and all of them are connected via her character. Madame Web is the latest film in Sonys Spider-Man Universe after Tom Hardy films Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Morbius, starring Jared Leto.

In an earlier conversation with Variety, Dakota Johnson described Madame Web as a a wild experience and said, I dont think you can be prepped to go into anything like that, but I learned so much. Its a completely different way of making films, you know.
