HawgBeat Report Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson to enter transfer portal

Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback KJ Jefferson is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from 247Sports' Chris Hummer. South Carolina is reportedly the front runner for Jefferson, per Brad Crawford.

The news comes the day after reports surfaced that Bobby Petrino is set to return to Fayetteville as offensive coordinator for the Razorbacks.

Soon after reports of his expected transfer flooded social media, Jefferson posted an Instagram reel with the caption "I haven't made my decision yet," so it's yet to be determined if Jefferson will actually enter the portal or not.

If he does decide to enter the portal, he would join redshirt senior defensive back Jaylen Lewis, linebacker Chris Paul Jr. and linebacker Jordan Crook as the only Hogs to announce plans to explore other options in the portal. Sophomore wide receiver Sam Mbake was dismissed from the team and will also likely hit the portal.

A former four-star prospect in the class of 2019 according to Rivals, Jefferson has played a huge role in Arkansas success after a 4-20 mark from 2018-19 under former head coach Chad Morris. This season, Jefferson racked up 190 completions for 2,107 yards and 19 touchdowns along with 447 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
