Cyril Riolisbiggest fan Bruce McAvaney reflects on stars retirement
A modern day AFL legend has called full-time on his career at the age of 28.
Hawthorn Hawks star Cyril Rioli announced his shock retirement from the game on Wednesday morning.'
His last match for the club was in round four this year, when he'injured his left knee.
One week shy of his 29th birthday, Rioli will return home to Darwin, where he hopes to make a contribution to life in Northern Territory.
