New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra hit his second century in the ODI World Cup 2023. Playing against Australia in Dharamsala, Ravindra's innings came at a crucial time, when NZ were chasing a record total of 389 runs against a strong Australian bowling attack.
Ravindra, anchored the innings after coming to bat at number 3 after the dismissal of Devon Conway, who left after an attacking cameo of 28 off 17 balls. Ravindra held the innings from one side as New Zealand lost wickets in the middle overs and failed to build a big partnership after the departure of Daryl Mitchell who scored 54 off 51 balls.
After the dismissal of Mitchell in the 24th over, Rachin took it upon himself and attacked the Australian bowling to notch up a hundred off just 77 balls. This was Ravindra's second hundred of the tournament, the first one coming in his maiden ODI World Cup 2023 against defending champions England in Ahmedabad.
