American author principally recognized for coining the term "Bermuda Triangle," which he first used in an article for the pulp magazine Argosy in 1964. His popular works were characterized by their curious and eccentric subject matter, such as paranormal phenomena and mystical occurrences. He began his career as a newspaper reporter, although he quickly moved into the writing field as an editor for a local radio station in Indiana.
