Queen of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Empress of India, from 22 January 1901 to 6 May 1910. She was the wife of Edward VII, who was the son of Queen Victoria. During her reign, she had an impact on women's fashion and was known as a lively and social person. She died of a heart attack in 1925. Her family rose in rank after her father was chosen to be king of Denmark, in place of his second cousin who had been in line for the throne. Following this rise in status, she was promised to be the future wife of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (Edward VII).
