Hungarian dance artist and instructor who developed several important theories and techniques including Laban Movement Analysis and Labanotation, and who is credited with developing modern dance in Europe. He also influenced fencing theory through his lithe movements. He first began studying architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, but later became interested in the arts of dance and choreography and established the Choreographic Institute in 1915.Sponsored Links
