Award-winning young adult author who is best known for Out of the Dust (1997) and The Music of Dolphins (1996). Her other popular works include Letters from Rifka (1992) and Phoenix Rising (1994). She graduated from the University of Maryland with majors in psychology, English, and anthropology.
