Remembered for forming The Stanley Brothers music duo with his singer and banjo-player brother, Ralph Stanley, this twentieth-century vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter was one of the founding fathers of the bluegrass genre. His best-known songs include "The Fields Have Turned Brown" and "White Dove." One of his earliest albums, The Stanley Brothers & the Clinch Mountain Boys, was recorded on the Cincinnati-based King music label in the late 1950s.Sponsored Links
