Prominent World War II-era poet whose works include Raider's Dawn and Ha! Ha! Among the Trumpets. He also published short stories and letters; his works in these genres include In the Green Tree and The Last Inspection. The son of a schoolteacher, he studied at Cowbridge Grammar School.
