Bio:
A British journalist, businessman, politician, and author, he is known for his many popular science books, which include The Red Queen (1994), Genome (1999), and Nature via Nurture: Genes, Experience, & What Makes Us Human (2003). He served as science editor for The Economist during the 1980s. He studied zoology at the University of Oxford.
