Famous as the creator and producer of numerous popular television series, he built a resume that included Magnum P.I., Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, The Fall Guy, Quincy M.E. and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. At the start of his entertainment career, he was a songwriter for a successful vocal group called The Four Preps.
