Film and television director, writer, and actor recognized for productions such as By Hook or by Crook, Transparent, 'A Kid Like Jake, and Darby and the Dead. He has contributed groundbreaking work as one of the first openly trans directors in mainstream Hollywood.' He grew up in Vermont, but moved out to the West Coast. He earned an MFA in directing from UCLA.
