Cuban American DJ, producer, and remixer known as a pioneer of U.S. trance and progressive house music and as the producer behind the 1995 crossover hit "Set U Free" by Planet Soul. He is also known for the mix series Release: AM Edition / PM Edition, the double-disc compilation A State of Mind, artist albums such as The Lost World and Visions Behind Expressions, and the single "True Love." He grew up in a household that appreciated music. He started DJ'ing in his teens at Miami high-school events, raves, and eventually on South Beach. He then acquired DJ residencies and developed an ear for vocal-driven and melody-first trance music. that later became his calling card. He began producing music in the mid-1990s. He founded Waxhead Records in 1996. His big break came when he collaborated with vocalist Nadine Renee as Planet Soul on the song "Set U Free."
