Also known as Agust 'n of Mexico, he is remembered as a general, politician, and emperor of the first Mexican empire. He experienced the turbulence of the war of independence in Mexico, though it is what helped him find notoriety due to his excellent military skills. After being exiled to Europe, he was eventually sentenced to death and died by fire squad in 1845. His family was of moderately high status, and he became the head of his household as he was the only surviving male child born to his parents. He studied at Colegio de San Nicol 's before joining the army as a teenager.
