Politician who initially gained prominence while running for the House of Representatives in Texas as a Democrat in 2018, a race she narrowly lost. She later became the Democratic nominee for a US Senate seat in Texas during the 2020 general election. She received her BA from the University of Texas at Austin. Following her graduation, she was commissioned as a US Air Force officer through the ROTC program in 1999.
