American lawyer who is best recognized for having served as a United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama. She is also known for serving as a Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in Law at the University of Alabama School of Law. She is also an MSNBC contributor known for commenting on the Mueller investigation.' She earned her BA Magna Cum Laude from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in 1982 before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1985. She started her career as a litigator before being nominated for the Northern District of Alabama in May of 2009.
