Jes M. Baker is an American writer, photographer, and activist, best known for being part of the body positive movement. She blogs as The Militant Baker. Her writing focuses on self-image, and can range from topics on body hair to rape culture. Otherwise known as The Militant Baker, this body-positive blogger and mental health advocate has become known through her food, feminist, and lifestyle blog. A prolific writer and author, she has gone on to publish the essay collection Things No One Will Tell Fat Girls: A Handbook for Unapologetic Living. Her blogging career didn't begin until 2012 when she was inspired to begin writing by reading The Nearsighted Owl blog. She'd previously been spending her post-college years as a pastry chef and a mental health educator and rehabilitation specialist.
