Baroque classical composer and lutenist who wrote two highly regarded volumes of lute music. His manual for "Intavolatura di Liuto et di Chitarrone, libro primo," published in 1623, claims that he invented the archlute. He performed and held appointments for important members of the Catholic Church like Cardinal Pietro Aldobrandini as his skills improved.
