Affiliated with the Cambodian League for Democracy Party, he took office in 2006 as the first LDP President. Also a businessman and an attorney, he worked in the electronics field and served in the Cambodian Ministry of Interior. After briefly attending the Royal University of Phnom Penh's Department of Media and Communication, he earned a law degree from Cambodia's Royal University of Law and Economics.
