Poet and playwright who is remembered for his 1938 radio drama, The Planets: A Modern Allegory. His other works include Apostrophes: A Book of Tributes to Masters of Music and a 1925 autobiography entitled Troubadour. He grew up in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. He published his first literary work, Love and Life and Other Studies, in 1908.
