A Republican politician who became the 63rd Governor of Mississippi at the start of 2012, replacing Haley Barbour. He was previously the 31st Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi. In 1999, he served as the State Auditor of Mississippi and he later became Lieutenant Governor.
