Initially famous for her starring role as Yue Siying in the Chinese television series Li Wei the Magistrate, she went on to appear in the popular Taiwanese TV movie Pink Ladies. Her other notable credits include the role of Diaochan in the television series Three Kingdoms and the starring role of Ouyang Hua in the 2005 movie Gimme Kudos. She made her screen acting debut in the 1992 thriller Wu Hu Si Hai. Several years later, after attending China's Central Academy of Drama, she began her rise to fame by appearing in the 1998 film Postmen in the Mountains.
