7th degree red and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu who competed in mixed martial arts in the featherweight and lightweight divisions. He finished his MMA career with a 5-5-1 record. He won his first of 9 gold medals in various Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/Grappling tournaments which included World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, ADCC World Championship, and Pan American Championships back in 1996.
