An American crime fiction writer, he is known for such novels as The Deadly Percheron, The Last of Philip Banter, and Devil Take the Blue-Tail Fly. He published his final work, Purloining Tiny, in 1978. After studying engineering at the University of Cincinnati, he worked for Edwin Bird Wilson, Inc., a New York City advertising agency.
