Guyana-born singer best known for his Gold-selling 1969 single "Take a Letter, Maria". His cover of "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me" cracked the Top 40 the following year. He was born on a U.S. Army Air Force base and was raised on a Seminole Indian reservation.
