Though best remembered for her Just William young adult fiction series, this British author also penned numerous stand-alone works, including The Innermost Room, Millicent Dorrington, and Family Roundabout. Before beginning her literary career, she earned a Classics degree from the University of London's Royal Holloway College and went on to become a schoolteacher.
