Children's writer whose best-known works include The Volcano Disaster, Earthquake Terror, and I'm Not Who You Think I Am. Her books have won more than fifty state young reader awards. She grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She developed polio at the age of twelve and was hospitalized for nearly a year.
