A 20th-century Bulgarian writer, he is best known for his 1927 story, Legends of Stara Planina, and for his 1927 play, Inn at Antimovo. Several of his works, including Shibil and Chastinyat Uchitel, were made into films. He studied law at Sofia University before enlisting in the 41st division during the First Balkan War. His early works focused on village life; his post-war works were decidedly darker-themed.
