Australian poet and author known for The Burden of Tyre, Like a Dream of Stone, and other works. The Fellowship of Australian Writers established the Christopher Brennan Award for Poetry in his honor. He was born in Sydney to Irish immigrant parents. As a young man, he studied Classics at the University of Sydney.
