Light middleweight gold medal Olympic boxer at the 1960 Summer Rome Games who also won a gold medal at the 1959 Pan American Games in Chicago. He won a couple of Golden Gloves and was the 1960 U.S. Olympic Trials 156-lb champion before making his professional debut in 1961.
