Poet whose 1987 poetry collection, A Fire in the Cold House of Being, received the Camden Poetry Award. He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in poetry for a 2008 collection entitled Country Music. He studied under poet Hayden Carruth at Syracuse University. He later taught at Ithaca College.
