Egyptian international center back known for his play with Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly from 1998-2003, a stint which ended in controversy and a move to rival Al-Zamalek. He played for the national team in the mid-2000s. He grew up playing for Al Ahly's youth club before making his senior debut in 1998. He spent a brief time on loan to Everton in 2003, but never appeared in a game for the club.
