Attacking midfielder who starred at the 2010 World Cup tournament and helped Germany capture a World Cup title in 2014. He played for Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013 before joining Arsenal. He played for his first major club, FC Schalke 04, in 2005, and appeared in 30 matches for the the team before joining Werder Bremen in 2008.
